A Bit About Me

I am originally from Bangladesh, a country in Southeast Asia, which is located at the juncture of three tectonic plates and occupies the major part of the Bengal Delta. Because of the geographic location where I grew up, I have been familiar with many natural and anthropogenic phenomenon that affects human life and the environment, and thus, my passion for earth science was naturally kindled in me. Please see below regarding my education, experience, research and more.

Work Experience

August 2016 - Present

January 2014 - May 2016

January 2016 - August 2016

July 2013 - December 2013

Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Dallas

Conduct research in the area of paleomagnetism and rock magnetism and assist instructor for preparing lectures, quiz and tests, taking tests and grading etc for several courses that includes Physical geology lecture and lab, sedimentology, Earthquakes and volcanoes, Geological field mapping.

Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at the Auburn University

Conducted research in provenance analysis, heavy minerals separation, petrography, whole rock geochronology and assist instructor for preparing lectures, quiz and tests, taking tests and grading etc. for several courses that includes Physical geology lecture and lab, historical geology, sedimentology.

Instructor at Alabama Prison Arts & Education Project

Taught introductory geology courses at Alabama’s correction center and communicated earth science with a group of people of diverse origin.

Research Project Assistant

Vertical electrical sounding survey to delineate-
• Vertical distribution of rock types in the study area;
• Aquifer and aquitard positions, lateral extent and their thickness;
• Prepare aquifer maps and cross sections based on geophysical investigation and available bore log information.
